Card Types
The type of card can be seen on the bottom right of the card.
Instants (⚡) can be played at any point, even as a reaction during an opponent’s Action phase.
Perils (💀) can only be played on the user’s turn, but can also be played to tiles, if the card allows it. For example, a card that would be played on Plains may be much less powerful in a Forest, though GM discretion and flavour is important! Cards played to tiles will trigger at the user’s will, but you may only have one card played to a tile at any given time.
Equippables can be equipped with an action, granting the user the benefits in its effect text.

Negating Card Effects
When a card is played to a creature, they may attempt to negate the card’s damage and effects by making a Peril check against it. The stat rolled is based on the type of card used, denoted by the symbol on the card:
Sword, Shield or Rot (⚔🛡⥁): 🗡Fight/♡Body
Sun, Moon or Wyld (☀☪☘): ♟Wits/☄Spirit
The rolled symbols must match the card’s symbol, plus an amount of random symbols equal to the user’s Trickery or Spell Difficulty Rating, depending on what is used. Perils resolve as follows;
On a pass (all symbols matched), the creature takes half of the values of the listed effects, rounded down.
On a critical pass (all symbols matched, at least half the symbols matched an additional time), the creature negates all of the effects of the card.
On a failure (not all symbols matched) the creature takes the listed effects of the card.
On a critical failure (less than half of the symbols matched) the creature takes double the listed effects and damage of the card.
Burning Cards
Cards may be burned before any attack or skill check. The symbol is displayed on the top right of a card (see Burning).
Card Rarity
You can have an amount of duplicate cards in your deck depending on the card’s rarity. The card’s rarity is found by hovering over the flavour text icon in the bottom left, or is shown as a number in Tabletop Simulator. This number is how many of that card you are allowed in your deck. Card rarities work as follows;
❹ Common. You can have up to 4 in your deck.
❸ Uncommon. You can have up to 3 in your deck.
❷ Rare. You can have up to 2 in your deck.
❶ Unique. You can have only one in your deck.
