Injury and Death

When you fall to 0HP, you are considered downed. While downed, you are conscious, your AP is considered 1, your actions and reactions are considered consumed.

If a creature hits -3HP, they gain an injury. Each damage thereafter is considered overkill, and is dealt directly to both their Body and Fight stats. Any creature suffering from Body or Fight damage is considered injured. A creature dies if their Body reaches 0.

Downed creatures are prone to the Coup de Grace full action and the Knockout Blow action.

Downed creatures can be healed with an action by an adjacent creature, or by themselves with 1AP. The healer must make a Wits (Medicine) check, matching 2 symbols (random or GM-determined).

  • Pass: The downed creature regains 2 health. If you reach 1HP, they regain their reaction and action.

  • Crit Pass: The downed creature goes back to 2 health, regaining their action, reaction, and 2AP.

  • Fail: Creature stays downed. Nothing happens.

  • Crit Fail: The creature loses consciousness at the end of their turn, unless they are healed before the end of your turn.
